Ahh Christmas!!! I Love Christmas. I love to look for things to get my dearest family and friends. I love to watch the look on their faces when they open their presents. This year, The economy Sucks!!! No one is building, so Jesse isn't working so much. So, naturally the present thing is not really happening in large quantities. It really made me adjust what I think Christmas is about.
Now, You may ask "Valerie, aren't you a Christian? Don't you know that it's about Jesus' Birth?" Well, Yes I do! But, I think that sometimes while I'm so excited about the presents ( and I must say that my love language is giving and receiving gifts) I sort of loose sight of the fact that Christmas was not build on Presents. It was because of Christ!!! That baby that was in that manger grew up into a man that gave his life in a horrible and brutal death so that I may live!!! That is what Christmas is about.
So, I encourage you as God is encouraging me!! Don't stress about the presents. Don't charge your Christmas away! Don't get so depressed because you can't buy your family and friends these wonderful gifts! Give them the gift of Life! Talk with them about what Christ did for you. Love them and encourage them in their daily life and struggles. Give them the gift of fellowship. Visit with them, Laugh with them, watch them love and live instead of watching them open presents. Finally, give them the gift of prayer. Pray for them and their families, their jobs, their influences, their lifes, and their Eternal Life.
